New Substance Use/Abuse Program Article Posted Today

I just added an extensive look into the problems faced by the sexual minority with regard to:

  • How much more the LGBT community is predisposed to addiction problems compared to heterosexuals.
  • Treatment disparties in the Midwest US versus the east and west coasts, and the lack of treatment programs that take into account issues of the sexual minority.
  • Acquiring and maintaining sobriety.

The article is entitled “A Chemical Dependency Conundrum”, and you can jump to it here.  It’s not a short post, but I hope that you take the time to read it in it’s entirety.  Any comments/criticisms/feedback is certainly welcome.

While every effort has been made to remain on point and factually accurate, if there are any errors or omissions the responsibility for them is mine and mine alone.

I would especially like to thank our Substance Use/Abuse Director Chris Murphy for tolerating my seemingly endless interrogation in my research for this article.  Also, my deep gratitude goes to BTTBP’s President Brandon Bennett for providing me his perspective on the content, and his expert assistance in editing.

I could not have completed this task without the assistance of either of them.
