Second Quarterly Meeting Notes: FY16

BTTBP is interested in pursuing two main agendas for the remaining of FY 2016 and into FY 2017.  We have, after much consideration exited the operational agenda of our organization and are now pursuing limited local projects as well as fundraising efforts, only.

  1.  Yuma County:  We will pursue a collective campaign to organize and pursue the needs to establish another Battle of the Bands event, tentatively planned for the Fall of 2017.  Mr. Edward Carns (BTTBP VP, e-mail:  ed.carns@bttbp.org) will pursue individuals in the community with expertise and connections to assist in the campaign to garner community interest, fundraise, and organize this event.
  2. Imperial County:  We will pursue in joint effort with the Imperial Valley LGBT Resource Center, a means of fundraising and grantmaking to broaden the scope of this resource center and bring not only more resources to Imperial County but also neighboring Mexico and Yuma County.

We hope that with the pursuit of the next Battle of the Bands event, we will be drawn closer to the needs of the local bands as well as other artists in Yuma County so that we can assist them in finding locations in which to express their talent as well as bring more resources to their individual and collective cause.

As BTTBP will not be pursuing another youth/lgbt center, the assets from the REACH Youth Center will be donated to the Imperial Valley LGBT Resource Center.

If you have any suggestions or if you would like to join our cause in anyway, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Best Regards,

Mr. Brandon Bennett
